    Mission Statement​​​​

    The mission of the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHHDRC) is to take a comprehensive approach to advancing research across disciplinary areas, to enhance and promote coordination and collaboration throughout the scientific community, and to improve the overall quality of health for racial and ethnic minorities.

    Vision
    The MHHDRC vision is to develop an infrastructure equipped with advanced technologies, training opportunities and community network alliances to facilitate and enhance the work of highly skilled and motivated faculty researchers and students.
     
    Objectives
    1. Enhance the academic environment by recruiting and retaining acclaimed leaders and experts in the respective fields of environmental health; global health; nursing and public health.
    2. Enhance the academic environment by recruiting and retaining motivated and committed racial and ethnic minority students.
    3. Strengthen Dillard’s research infrastructure by merging the Dillard Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (P20 Center of Excellence) with the National Institutes on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Endowment Program , which will maximize resources across multidisciplinary areas and inspire innovative approaches for health disparities research.
    4. Develop unique hands on curriculum concentration framed around the needs of the communities that will create and strengthen challenging courses in health disparities and research.
