Annual Interdisciplinary Faith and Health Outcomes Forum

The College of Nursing at Dillard University is soliciting abstracts for paper and poster presentations to be presented at the Annual Faith and Health Outcomes Forum being held on Friday, March 2, 2018 8:30 am-4:30 pm on the historic campus of Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. Panel Theme: Clinical and Faith-Based Perspectives on Palliative Care Paper presentations are offered in multiple concurrent sessions with up to 2 oral presentations per session. Paper presentations are scheduled in 60 minute blocks and should include perspectives and implications related to the categories listed below: 1. Clinical 2. Theoretical 3. Ethical 4. Historical 5. Policy 6. Research Poster Sessions allow attendees to discuss with presenters their displayed posters. EXTENDED Submission Deadline: February 9, 2018 Confirmed Acceptance: February 16, 2018 INTERDISCIPLINARY FAITH and HEALTH OUTCOMES FORUM OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to: 1. Describe historical and current perspectives of palliative care in today’s society. 2. Differentiate between palliative care and end-of-life care. 3. Discuss faith-based perspectives on palliative care: multifaceted points of view WHO SHOULD SUBMIT? Abstract presenters should represent one of the following types of organizations: Academia (Graduate and Undergraduate: faculty/students); Community (Hospitals, Clinics); Hospice Agencies, and Wellness and Faith- based organizations (Churches, Ministries, Non-Profits). ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS One of the following presentation preferences must be selected: Paper Presentation Poster Presentation Please indicate forum submission category and forum objective number. Category number (1 – 6) Forum objective number (1 – 3)   The title should be brief and should clearly indicate the content of the paper. Abbreviations may not be used in abstract titles.  The following contact information is required for the Presenting Author(s): First name, Last name, Department, Institution, Street address, City, State, Country, Phone number and a valid email address. For all co-authors: First name, Last name, Institution, City, State, Country and a valid email address are required. Source(s) of funding or support for the project, program or document detailed in the abstract must be disclosed. All authors listed on an abstract must disclose information that may indicate potential conflict of interest (i.e., financial agreements, organizational affiliations) with the topic of the abstract.  Each abstract, excluding title and author information, may be no longer than 250 words.  No more than two people may present per abstract submission.  Individuals are allowed to submit only ONE abstract as primary author.  Single space all text with one space between paragraphs.  Do not use underlining or capitalization for emphasis.  Indent each paragraph with three character spaces before beginning text.  Simple tables, graphs and figures may be included. The image will be scaled from its original size so the abstract will fit into its allotted space. The size of the scaled image will be the printed size in the final program book.  A BIO or CV must be sent with each submission.  For multiple submission submit a file for each submission (word or pdf format)  Objectives should contain one action or outcome that can be measured, demonstrated or achieved upon completion of the presentation. PRESENTER'S REGISTRATION FEES Confirmed Abstracts  The registration fees for presenters is $75.00 with the exception of undergraduate student presenters. The undergraduate student presenter’s fee is $35.00 (documentation of enrollment required). (All registration fees must be paid by February 19, 2018. Registrations paid after February 19 will incur a $15 late fee.) Presenters cannot register on site. All presenters’ fees must be paid prior to forum.
