Biography: 

Dr. Steve Buddington is a native of Jamaica, West Indies - former student of Mannings High School and Geoffrey Stewart High School, initially named Savanna-La-Mar Secondary School alias Senior School. Dr. Buddington has extensive teaching and research experience –teaching research methodology and statistics courses, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

Dr. Buddington is the former Chair of Dillard University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), a former Vice-President of the Faculty Senate, a faculty governance entity on which he has served numerous times. His service to Dillard University has been extensive, serving on every University committee as a member and/or as an officer. He is an adjunct faculty member at Southern University at New Orleans and has served on numerous doctoral committees and editorial boards.

 

Dr. Buddington has published in the areas of ethnicity and race, acculturation, education, social welfare, public policy, and social and economic justice among the Jamaican immigrant and the Black/Minority/African-American populations, in journals such as the International Social Work Journal, Research Association of Minority Professors, Journal of Justice Studies, and in a book entitled “Voices of historical and contemporary Black American pioneers”( Ed. by. L. Farmer & E. G. Shepherd-Wynn. He has presented numerous articles at local, regional, and national conferences. Dr. Buddington is also the recipient of many public and private grants.
