Message from the Dean

Dr. Richard S. Igwike Interim Dean, College of BusinessThe Dillard University College of Business has a history of producing students who excel academically, and graduates who are uniquely prepared for employment, graduate school or entrepreneurship. While students in the College of Business constitute less than fourteen percent of the student population at Dillard University, the College of Business has produced thirty-six percent of the university’s Valedictorians and Salutatorians since 2009. We are proud of this achievement and committed to attaining ever-greater levels of success for our students. This student success is driven by the faculty’s student-centered approach to teaching to produce creative, problem-solving leaders who are dedicated to improving the communities of the world.

Graduates of the Dillard University College of Business are employed in organizations such as ExxonMobil, Deloitte Touche, Staples, Inc., Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Chase Bank and the Internal Revenue Service. As well, some of our graduates decide to attend graduate school, while others become entrepreneurs. With regard to internships, our students have interned with HBO, Citigroup, Whitney Bank, BET Networks and Goldman Sachs. Moreover, in our quest to continuously improve the college we have developed a relationship with members of Synchrony Financial’s African American Diversity Network.  This relationship has resulted in an annual ‘Leadership Day’ in which members of the company’s African American Network visit the campus and engage with students in seminars centering on issues such as corporate dynamics, culture, leadership, networking and mentorship. Both the students and faculty have found this association to be extremely valuable.

You are welcome to explore Dillard University College of Business.

Sincerely,

Dr. Richard S. Igwike
