American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow
Each year, the American Council on Education (ACE) selects an average of 30 Fellows who leave their home institutions for specialized leadership training with a chosen university president. The Fellows represent the crème-de-la-crème in educational leadership with the potential for much higher level positions in the future. Each Fellow chooses three presidents and visits three campuses anywhere in the United States to assess leadership development opportunities. ACE Fellows maintain the salary from their home institutions.
Dr. Muriel Hawkins, currently the Assistant Vice Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, chose to visit Dillard University this past summer and decided to study under
Dr. Hughes’s tutelage for one year. Dr. Hawkins serves as a full-time administrator in the President’s office for the academic year 2007-2008.
