african-girls_science_4.sflb.ashxPre-Freshman Engineering Program (PREP)is designed to increase the number of minorities and women entering mathematics, science and engineering professions. Students selected will have demonstrated a high potential for success in the natural sciences. The aim of the program is to strengthen skills in the natural sciences as well as sharpen individual communication and critical thinking skills. Participants will be introduced to courses in mathematics, general biology, English and computer science. There will be field trips to Engineering sites and/or Engineer speakers on Fridays. Throughout the four-week summer program, 30 students will participate in: scientific demonstrations and experiments; supporting mathematical reasoning and analytical skills; computer training; field trips; 24-Math Game and the Engineering Science Fair; and Exposure to various fields of Engineering.

Program Time: 8:00 am until 4:00 pm except Fridays. 8:00 am until 12 noon.
