The Center for Intensive English Language (CIEL) is a non-credit program offered at Dillard
 University through the Office of International Students and Study Abroad Programs. A form of provisional admissions is granted to international students from non-English speaking countries and those residing in the United States are who have successfully completed the program. CIEL has numerous objectives.

Some of CIEL’s objectives are: 

• To provide students with reading, writing, listening, speaking, and cultural awareness skills.
• To cultivate an understanding of the language and study skills necessary for success as academic students in the United States, and especially at Dillard University.
• To foster intercultural awareness through meaningful classroom and off-campus experiences.
