Dillard University is pleased to introduce a state-of-the-art early warning system capable of sending notifications of impending emergencies/crisis situations to all registered mobile devices (via SMS/text messaging), PDAs, email addresses, text pagers, and RSS feeds. The system can also send real-time messages to anyone using Google, My AOL, My Yahoo, or Windows Live.

Signing up for this service is quick and easy:

  2. Enter your personal information.
  3. You will receive a text message on your chosen cellular device with a 4-digit validation code.
  4. Enter the code when requested.
  5. Log in to add your email address and another number (if desired).
  6. Write down username and password.
  7. You can also sign up to receive updates via email only; just click on "Email Alert Sign-up."

Please note:
Depending on the type of service you have with your cellular provider, you may incur a service charge for text messages. Dillard University will not be responsible for any charges incurred.

Dillard University reserves the right to test the system occasionally.

Additional instructions are as follows:

For tomorrow’s (Oct. 4, 2013) evacuation students are to meet downstairs in Kearny Hall for 7 a.m. to board buses to Centenary College in Shreveport. This evacuation applies to Dillard residential students only.  Your RA will provide you details on what items you may bring with you on the bus.

Classes for Monday, Oct. 7 have been cancelled and will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Students should check with their instructor’s Black Board for assignments.

Dillard essential personnel are expected to report to work on Monday based on instructions from your respective supervisors.

Employees should secure their workspace and protect/cover computers and equipment from possible roof leaks before leaving today.

Discard perishables from refrigerators in preparation for a possible power outage.

Unplug appliances, computers, and all electrical equipment

Follow your individual emergency plan for protecting academic files and research
