Professional Accomplishments Before serving as the Dean of the Division of Business (2004 – Present), Dr. Fugar was named the William Arceneaux Endowed Professor of Economics and Finance and has served as the Chairperson in the Department of Economics and Finance Department in the Division of Business (1995 – 2004), and as the Dillard University coordinator of the Academic Computing Services (1993 – 1995). He has also taught at Troy State University, University of Northern Iowa, Southern University at New Orleans, Howard University and Virginia Union University. In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities, he has served as a consultant to the World Bank in Washington, D.C., US Department of Agriculture, Office of Finance and Management and US Coast Guard, District Eight.
Dr. Fugar has been the recipient of over $1,000,000 in grants and contracts, including major grants from the US Department of Transport, US Department of Education, Louisiana Board of Regents, and many other private agencies and organizations. Dr. Fugar is the author of many articles about monetary and financial policy issues. His current work appears in The Global Journal of Finance and Economics, Volume 6, No 1 (2010). He has also traveled extensively around the world sponsoring and directing study-abroad programs in international business.
