    Keeping HBCUs afloat is a subject of much discussion across the nation. At this year's annual conference of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, HBCU Presidents gathered in Washington to discuss the feasibility of keeping these schools going. Dillard University's Dr. Walter Kimbrough was a vocal participant, requesting forgiveness for a massive federal loan to get the school back up and running post Hurricane Katrina.

    Dillard Alumnus Garrett Morris has had a successful career spanning over 40 years as an actor, musician and comedian. Currently, he stars in the television show, "Two Broke Girls" as a former musician and cashier.  In this article he talks about working for Harry Belafonte and his days on SNL. He also clarifies that he graduated from Dillard University, and not Julliard.

The Dillard community is invited to listen to Spike Lee collaborators Sharon Seymour and Kerwin DeVonish share stories and offer suggestions to future filmmakers in Georges Auditorium, this month.
