Excellence In Heritage Tour: Amistad Research Center and Longue Vue House & Gardens Thursday, August 25, 2011
Approximately 200 college and university students from Chile, China, Germany, India and the United States attended the 17th Annual Melton Foundation Symposium, hosted by Dillard University. The theme, “Climate Change: Global Perspectives on Going Green,” was heightened with sessions on global health, consumption, conservation, Louisiana’s wetlands and Bangalore’s traffic congestion and pollution.
Participants also engaged in several collaborative community service projects with Habitat for Humanity, the Audubon Nature Institute and the Gentilly Community Outreach Project.
The sessions and community service activities provided the intellectual stimulus needed to make a difference in the world.
