Named one of New Orleans' Activists of the Year 2012, Abbott was honored for his work to enrich the City of New Orleans.

Dillard University Head Coach Bobby Williams and Women's Track Team Captain Jonquel Griffin have signed New Orleans native Kaitlyn Fortuna to a full track scholarship for 2013-2014. The Academy of Our Lady senior has had impressive standings in the District 9 and District 10 track and field events over the past two years.
