Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education as a balanced arts and sciences/professions institution, located in the culturally rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana, invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology.


This position is a tenure-track or non-tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology which requires teaching and service. The appointment is effective January, 2014.   This position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. 


Requirements: 


The successful candidate must be qualified to teach the courses of Introduction to Psychology, Psychology of Learning, Statistics, Social/Organizational Psychology, and a Psychology Research Seminar. Strengths in computer assisted instructional techniques, online coursework and blended course construction will enhance the candidate’s application. A research program in health related issues or other area of psychology is expected. Evidence of research publications will improve the competitiveness of the application. Primary responsibilities include teaching, student advisement and mentoring, conducting an undergraduate research program, and grant writing. Teaching load will include 12 hours per semester depending on grant-supported research activities and other departmental responsibilities. 
 

Qualifications Earned doctorate in psychology with evidence of teaching experience. An exceptional new doctoral graduate or ABD may be considered.
