Job Description

Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education as a balanced arts and sciences/professions institution, located in the culturally rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana, invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry.


This position is a tenure-track or non-tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry which requires teaching and service. The appointment is effective January, 2014.   This position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. 


Requirements:


Applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate core chemistry courses such as general chemistry, physical chemistry, instrumental analysis (instrumentation) and design some courses in forensic science.  Applicants are also expected to show potential for productive, externally funded scientific or forensic science research. Position supports the Department of Chemistry and initiates an undergraduate Forensic Science program through teaching selected courses, developing curriculum, academic advising of students and participation on programmatic committees.

Qualifications This position requires a Ph.D. in physical chemistry with professional work experience in a forensic science laboratory or a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry with applications in forensic science.
