Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education as a balanced arts and sciences/professions institution, invites applications for the position of Chair of the School of Public Health. The University is located in the culturally rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Job Description:
Direct the activities of the Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health; maintain relationships with internship agencies; oversee the public health accreditation process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and promotion of all affairs pertaining to the academic well-being and morale of the School of Public Health. This responsibility involves activities such as: maintaining compliance with Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) accreditation standards; scheduling meetings with School faculty; submitting annual reports to the Dean of the College of Health Sciences; counseling and guiding faculty; advising and counseling students; planning curriculum; scheduling; maintaining academic relevancy; all budgetary considerations; recommending faculty leaves, student employees, teaching appointments, travel and expenditures to the Dean of the College of Health Sciences; teach courses. This is a 10-month tenure track position. |

| Qualifications |
Earned doctorate degree in an area of public health; two years of successful experience as a department chair or some other leadership role within a department or school in an area of public health; experience in undergraduate education and curriculum development. |
