It is the student’s responsibility to find transportation to and from the referred medical facility and/or provider. If the student must travel by New Orleans Emergency Medical Service (EMS), the student must file a claim with the insurance company within 90 days of the illness/injury. New Orleans Regional Transit Authority may be used to get to and from neighboring medical clinics. The city bus runs in front of the campus on Gentilly Boulevard. The routes and bus schedules can be found at www.norta.com. Also, there are local cab companies that may be utilized for transport. Upon discharge from a hospital the student may contact case management of the discharging facility for transportation assistance back to Dillard University. At no time will Dillard University or the Student Health and Wellness Center be responsible for any charges incurred from the preferred provider and/or hospital. In the event a Dillard student is admitted to a psychiatric facility for care, it is the responsibility of the student and parent to make transportation arrangements back to Dillard University. Dillard University will not be liable for transportation from any psychiatric facility upon discharge. Case management of the discharging facility can be consulted by the student or parents for assistance. |
