Pres Kabacoff-Advantage Dillard! Co-Chair Print
Dear Friends,
My father Lester Kabacoff served on Dillard University’s Board of Trustees for 30 years. When Dillard asked me to take his place, I could not say no.

It is important for all of us in New Orleans, even those like me who did not graduate from Dillard, to keep the university alive and well. For those in the Gentilly community especially, it is comforting to have a caring university in the neighborhood committed to a solid education for everyone and to the health of our community. Dillard’s success in restoring, upgrading and adding facilities to the original campus has led the way to the revitalization of this important, historic middle-income neighborhood.

In addition to rebuilding the campus and equipping it with the best facilities and technology, one of our biggest challenges is increasing the number of Dillard students. We cannot afford to lose high-quality students because they cannot afford a university education.

To enroll the kind of students we want at Dillard–and to give them a top education–we must ensure access and success. That means we need substantial endowments for scholarships. It also means more resources for faculty support and program innovation. This is what it takes to compete with other universities for students and faculty.

Your gift is an investment that will pay great dividends for Dillard and its students far into the future. It also will help to build a healthy community in which Dillard resides.

Thank you.
