| Dillard to Host Housing and Home Improvement Festival |

On Saturday, July 28, Dillard University's Community Development Corporation will host its annual Housing and Home Improvement Festival in Dent Hall on the Dillard campus. The housing fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Admission is free and open to the public. This is the sixth year of the event which is sponsored by AARP, Capital One Bank, New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Entergy New Orleans, to name a few. Dozens of exhibitors will provide information on insurance, lending, realtors, contractors, interior design, roofing, gutters, flooring, cabinetry, landscaping and pest control. A workshop series will feature presentations including “Reducing Energy Consumption,” “Creating a Community Garden,” “Do-‐it-‐yourself Plumbing,” “Increasing Your Credit Rating,” “Succession and Will Planning,” “Soft Second Mortgage Information,” and more. “This event gives local residents the opportunity to meet business representatives in a casual setting that provides valuable information about homeownership and offers solid advice on home improvement projects from reliable sources, “ said Nick Harris, assistant vice president for Dillard’s Community Development Corporation. Attendees can also expect food booths, live music, arts and crafts, and door prizes. Exhibition space for non-‐profit, community and for-‐profit organizations is still available.
