All performances begin at 7:00 p.m. FOUR LITTLE GIRLS: Birmingham 1963 was written by internationally known playwright Christina Ham and directed by Ed Bishop, award-winning producer/director. The readings commemorate the 50th anniversary of the bombings that took the lives of four young girls at the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The readings capture the turbulence of the civil rights movement and the climate of racial tension and discrimination of the time. Four little girls – Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Wesley – share their future aspirations about “what they want to be when they grow up,” in the volatile environment of the Civil Rights Movement. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information on Project 1Voice and “FOUR LITTLE GIRLS,” please see link below. |
