The following letter from President Marvalene Hughes to the school community addresses Dillard's reaffirmation at the hands of its accrediting body:

I am pleased to announce that on June 30, 2010, we received notification of Dillard University’s ten-year reaffirmation from our accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC).

We are deeply grateful to each of you for your support, and to our entire campus community, who worked tirelessly on the development of our compliance documents and our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).

Although an enormous amount of hard work, the reaffirmation process was positive for Dillard University, as it helped to clarify and reaffirm our mission and strategic directions for the university. We are all very pleased with this outcome.
