Dillard, Loyola, Tulane and Xavier Universities present an inspired slate of programming from Jan. 17-21 for the 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Week for Peace. This year's theme is "Unity + Diversity = Universities for the Dream." All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. Free transportation for students is provided to all events. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 MLK Day of Service: "A Day On, Not a Day Off" Xavier University of Louisiana, University Center 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Bus transportation for Dillard students will depart from DU's main entrance at 7:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 MLK Convocation featuring Keynote Speaker Nikki Giovanni Loyola University, Roussel Hall (Music & Communication Building) 5 - 5:45 p.m. (Opening Reception) 6 - 7:30 p.m. (Convocation) Bus transportation for Dillard students will depart from DU's main entrance at 5 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 Expressions of Unity - Talent Showcase Dillard University, Professional Schools Building, Georges Auditorium 7 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 Stepping for the Dream - University Step-Off Tulane University, McAlister Auditorium 7 p.m.
MLK Week Closing Party Loyola University, Danna Center (St. Charles Room) 9:30 p.m. A current student university ID is required for entry.
