History Small Business and Accounting Center (SBAC) provides financial statement preparation, taxation, consulting services to small businesses and self employed individuals for no charge. In order to qualify for these services, an entity must meet the following requirements:
If your entity does not meet these requirements, please contact us to determine further elgibility. Kem Washington, CPA Kem Washington is currently a professor at Dillard University of New Orleans. She serves as the Treasurer for both New Orleans Outreach and Una Music Association of New Orleans. Recently, she was awarded a $70,000 grant through the LA Board of Regents to assist small businesses in the local community. As a result of this grant, she heads the Small Business and Accounting Center at Dillard University. Prior to her career at Dillard University, she has worked for the IRS as a revenue agent and criminal investigator, her tax experience has allowed her to start Washington CPA Services, LLC, which specializes in tax representation before the IRS. Richard Baucum, CPA Richard P. Baucum, CPA is currently Associate Professor of Accounting and Chairperson of Accounting at Dillard University. Richard received his Master of Business Administration at Loyola University and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the Louisiana Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is currently licensed as a CPA in the State of Louisiana. Richard performs consulting and tax work for individuals and small businesses. Carlette Dennis Dillard University Graduate 2008 Jasmi Brown Jasmi Sky Brown is a native of Houston, Texas who is currently a junior at Dillard University majoring in Accounting with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Cory Falade Cory Falade is a senior Accounting major at Dillard University. He plans to immediately go to Graduate school and pursue an M.S. degree in Accountancy. Throughout his 4 years at Dillard University, he has achieved numerous leadership positions presently: Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity – President, Collegiate 100 Black Men of Dillard University – President, National Association of Black Accountants – Vice President, Pre-Alumni Council and Senior Class Council - Treasurer. Cory has received 2 internship opportunities with Deloitte Services LLP and is eager to continue working with local businesses in the community. Rickie Reeves Rickie Reeves is a junior Accounting major at Dillard University. Rickie is a native of New Orleans, La. She plans to receive her MBA and aspires to become a CPA working for a large corporation. She is also working towards owning and managing a beauty salon. Rickie joined the SBAC this year. Bre'on Route Bre’on Route is a graduating senior at Dillard University currently pursuing a degree in accounting. Ms. Route has been working with the Small Business and Accounting Center for one year. She also holds an intern position with Entergy where she works on the Management Reporting team. Ms. Route plans to go on to receive her Master’s in Accounting and become certified as a public accountant. Jaquita Williams Jaquita Williams is currently a junior Accounting major at Dillard University. Ms. Williams is a first time member of the Small Business and Accounting Center. She currently holds the positions of Junior Vice President of Phi Gamma Nu National Business Fraternity and Parliamentarian of National Association of Black Accountants. Upon graduation from Dillard, she plans to sit for the Certified Public Accounting Exam and obtain a MBA.
