Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

The Division of Business at Dillard University offers free tax services to Dillard staff and students and local community, through its volunteer tax services program. The VITA program is geared to help moderate to low-income families (generally 40,000 or below), who have issues finding or preparing tax returns themselves. Certified volunteers, within the organization, has received the necessary training to prepare basic tax returns at no cost to you. In collaboration with the IRS, under the supervision of Ms. Washington and Ms. Bougere faculty students have prepared over 200 tax returns, annually. This program is a way for Dillard to give back to the community.

Requirements:
VITA tax assistance is available for those who have low-income, disabilities, or elderly.
The site will prepare the following:

• 1040EZ
• 1040A with Schedules 1,2,3, and EIC
• 1040 with Schedules A, B, C-EZ, EIC, and R
• Form 1040V (Payment Voucher)
• Form 1040 ES (Individual Estimated Tax Payment)
• Form 2441 ( Child and Dependent Care Credit)
• Form 8863 (Educational Credits)
• Form 8812 (Additional Child Tax Credit)

• Schedule C (Profit or Los From a Business)
• Schedule D (Complicated and Advanced D’s)
• Schedule E (Rental Income)
• Form SS-5 (Request for a Social Security Number)
• Form 2106 (Unreimbursed Employee Business Expenses)
• Form 3903 (Moving Expenses)
• Form 8606 (Nondeductible IRA)
• Form 8615 (Tax for Children Under 14 with Investment Income)
