Dillard University Honors Student


Academic Center for Excellence (ACE)

Works to improve the academic success of all students as they matriculate through the first two years of collegiate experience.


Center for Racial Justice

Brings systemic change to the way policing is done in communities of color and to promote partnerships with law enforcement including police departments and sheriff’s office, graduate and professional schools. 


Daniel C. Thompson/Samuel DuBois Cook Honors Program 

Encourages undergraduate research, student leadership initiatives and innovative teaching models in a multicultural, global context. Participants travel to conferences and seminars, work closely with faculty, and gain a competitive edge toward internships, graduate study and employment.


Emerging Scholars

Increases the number of students who successfully matriculate through the undergraduate curriculum by enhancing their reading, writing, analytical and critical thinking skills, while heightening their cultural and social readiness. 


Evening & Weekend Studies Program

Provides flexible learning opportunities for students with family and full-time work obligations.


Louis Stokes Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LAMP)

One of 34 National Science Foundation Alliance Programs nationwide that substantially increases the number and quality of minority students receiving baccalaureate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and, subsequently, increases the number of minority students entering graduate schools to earn doctoral degrees in STEM fields. 


Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center

Takes a comprehensive approach to advancing research about the overall quality of health for racial and ethnic minorities.


Pre-Health Advising

Supports students in the pre-health career decision-making process including professional school test preparation and mentoring. Open to all majors who wish to pursue careers in healthcare. 


Pre-Law Program

Diversifies the legal profession by training students in law and providing advising for law school admission and assistance for internships. The Pre-Law Program is also home to one of the nation’s premier mock trial teams and a growing debate team.


Dillard University Ray Charles Program for African-American Material Culture


Ray Charles Program in African American Material Culture

Researches, documents, disseminates, preserves and celebrates African American culture and foodways in the South to understand how African, Caribbean, European, and American cultures coalesced to create a culture that is uniquely African American. The program also takes a deeper look at how African American culture is portrayed and taught in an effort to not only preserve and take ownership of the culture.


Undergraduate Research

Students develop research or creative projects, collect data and present findings for papers, the Annual Symposium as well as local, regional and national conferences. Undergraduate Research also provides students the opportunity to collaborate with key faculty members.


Waterway Alliance (Interdisciplinary Urban Environmental Studies Targeted Infusion Project [IUES-TIP])

Fosters a cadre of well-trained undergraduates in the use of multiple frames of reference to explore linkages between natural and human systems as well as the human behaviors that drive environmental and natural resource changes.


Youth Outreach Programs

Introduces children to STEM through programs and camps.
