Second LineNew Orleans is regarded by some as America's "most African city." As a liberal arts HBCU, that makes the marriage between Dillard and NOLA magical. By studying at Dillard, students get their fill of intellectual capital while also getting a nice helping of authentic cultural capital through sites such as the historic Congo Square or one of the city's museums.

Students can also get a glimpse of the city's African roots on campus through the Ray Charles Program in African American Material Culture.

Film majors can gain access to the area's thriving "Hollywood South" scene while other Humanities majors can build enjoy the city's arts, entertainment and literary scene. The Dillard community even gets to enjoy the occasional New Orleans "Second Line" on campus.
