Commencement Parking

To ensure that we have a seamless flow of traffic and parking for both Baccalaureate and Commencement, please see the parking guidelines below. 

Dillard University 2021 Commencement Parking

Graduates & Media

All graduates and media representatives must enter the Virgil Boulevard gate. Graduates will park at Gentilly Gardens and Camphor/Hartzell Hall. Media will park in Michael and Shaun Jones Hall lot. The Virgil Gate will open at 6:00 a.m. the day of Commencement. 

Faculty, Staff, Volunteers & Special Guest

Faculty and staff (including members of the President's Cabinet), volunteers and special guests will enter the main entrance on Gentilly Boulevard. Faculty, staff and volunteers will park in the horseshoe. Cabinet members and special guests will park in the Rosenwald lot. ANY OTHERS WILL BE DIVERTED OR REMOVED. Parking in the Rosenwald Horseshoe is restricted effective 7 p.m. Thursday through 7 p.m. Saturday of Commencement Weekend.

Guests

Guests of the graduates will be allowed to park at the Student Union, next to the Cook Center, the Professional Services Building, Daughters of Charity, Gentilly Boulevard and I-610 overpass. Enter the Cook Center gate at St. Anthony Street beginning at 6:30 a.m. the day of Commencement. Guests may also enter the Warrington Street gate. Overflow parking off campus is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Shuttle Pick-up/Drop-off

The University shuttles will be available for guests who park under I-610.

Police

Credentialed members of the DUPD and outside law enforcement will park alongside of the Public Safety complex within a barricaded area. ANY OTHERS WILL BE DIVERTED OR REMOVED. 

Handicap Parking

Handicap parking will be at Stern Hall, the Alumni House and Howard House. The University will provide assistance for those who require it.

Illegally Parked Vehicles

All vehicles parked illegally on campus will be towed at the owner’s expense. Parking in handicap spaces without a permit, in fire/emergency lanes, on the grass/sidewalk, in reserved, or no parking zones will result in the immediate tow of the vehicle. There will be no parking in the space closest to Ms. Michelle Matthew’s office on the Michael and Shaun Jones Hall side of Kearny Hall from 7 p.m. Thursday through 7 p.m. Saturday of Commencement Weekend.
