The Dillard University College of Nursing is The College of Nursing is situated within the Professional Schools and Sciences Building (PSB). The programs boasts six nursing laboratories, cutting-edge simulation and women’s health labs and specialized dedicated laboratory for student state-of-the-art.
Each specialized area has its dedicated laboratory, providing students with the opportunity to study in a state-of-the-art facility.

Nursing Degrees and Programs
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing - RN to BSN
Don't miss out on the flexibility and accessibility offered by our hybrid RN to BSN Nursing courses.
In our RN-BSN program, students begin an exciting journey spanning 120 credit hours of coursework carefully crafted to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed for nursing success:
- General Education Core: 33 credit hours
- Nursing Core: 63 credit hours
- Nursing Cognates: 24 credit hours
Students have the opportunity to transfer up to 57 credit hours towards the Nursing Core & Cognates (Effective Summer 2015), and up to 38 credit hours towards the General Education Core, facilitating a streamlined path to degree completion.
As part of our commitment to holistic education, students engage in service learning, earning a total of 30 service learning hours upon successful completion of foundational courses. Additionally, students actively contribute to their communities through pre-approved community service projects coordinated by the Center for Career and Professional Development, accruing a total of 90 hours by the end of their junior year.
Innovatively blending online and on-campus instruction, all RN to BSN Nursing courses are hybrid, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for our students' diverse needs and schedules. Approval for course schedules is essential, ensuring a seamless progression towards graduation.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), Generic, Transfer, LPN to BSN
For students pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), whether through a Generic, Transfer, or LPN to BSN pathway, our program offers an enriching educational experience tailored to your needs.
Complete a total of 120 credit hours of coursework for graduation, including:
- General Education Core: 38 credit hours
- Nursing Core: 61 credit hours
- Nursing Cognates: 21 credit hours
Seamlessly integrate core courses with specialized nursing curriculum, preparing you for the challenges and rewards of the nursing profession.
Students will collaborate closely with a dedicated nursing advisor to chart your academic path, ensuring you stay on track towards graduation. Obtain advanced placement through standardized testing or evidence of one year of full employment as a licensed practical/vocational nurse.
With an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Louisiana, you can enroll in a transitional program, bypassing certain introductory courses.
Students will engage in service learning opportunities, earning a total of 30 service learning hours upon successful completion of foundational courses. Additionally, actively contribute to your community through pre-approved community service projects coordinated by the Center for Career and Professional Development, accumulating a total of 90 hours by the end of your junior year.
The Health Advocacy minor offers interdisciplinary learning grounded in the College of Nursing Framework and nursing paradigm. Open to all majors seeking additional healthcare content, this program equips students with skills vital for patient advocacy, healthcare ethics, EKG interpretation, medical billing and coding, and more. Earn your Health Advocacy minor upon completion of 18 credit hours of healthcare science (HS) coursework.
