Dillard University is delighted to announce that Alumna Renee Rhoten Morris ’93, President & CEO of Rhoten Morris Consumer Group and Uncle Funky’s Daughter, will serve as the 2025 Founders Day speaker.
Renee Rhoten Morris is the President and CEO of Rhoten Morris Consumer Group and Uncle Funky’s Daughter, an all-natural hair product company catering to women, men, and children embracing their natural curls. Her journey with natural hair began 16 years ago, and her passion for Uncle Funky’s Daughter products led her to acquire the company in 2014.
Drawing from her 15+ year career in management consulting, Renee has applied her extensive experience in the consumer products and beauty industry to transform Uncle Funky’s Daughter into a multi-million-dollar brand. Under her leadership, the company reintroduced beloved formulas, expanded its product line, and achieved remarkable growth—including a tenfold increase in retail presence, quadrupled revenue, and prominent placement in major retailers such as CVS, Target, Walgreens, Kroger, H-E-B, and Sally Beauty.
Renee’s mission extends beyond business success. She is committed to curating a portfolio of natural brands specifically tailored for people of color, creating safe spaces for communities to embrace their natural beauty. Her company also invests in social impact by supporting women and children in achieving financial independence.
We are thrilled to welcome Renee back to Fair Dillard for this auspicious occasion. Her journey exemplifies Dillard’s legacy of excellence, innovation, and leadership. We look forward to her inspiring message as we honor our founders and continue to advance the mission of Dillard University.
Sincerely,
Dillard University
