Our celebration of Women’s History Month at Dillard continues with our “Essential” series which features women who are among the University’s essential staff.
Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Lyntrell Picot knew that the nature of her work and life would most likely expose her to the virus. The university’s nurse wound up contracting a severe case of the virus, but she beat it. That’s not a surprise. Picot, who is the University nurse, takes her work as a healthcare professional very seriously. She is all business until her eyes brighten up at the mention of the students, her “babies.” As difficult as the pandemic has been, Nurse Picot, or “Nurse P” as the students call her, shows up on campus consistently to make sure that her babies and the employees are taken care of.
