In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, CNN premiered a special preview episode of its new four-part original series, New Orleans: Soul of a City, on Sunday, August 24. The opening episode, Rebirth of the Superdome, reflects on how the stadium transformed from a place of refuge during the storm to a symbol of the city’s resilience and renewal. Among the voices featured is Dillard’s own Dr. Casey Schreiber, Ph.D., Revius O. Ortique Jr., Eminent Scholar, Chair of Social Sciences and Associate Professor of Urban Studies & Public Policy, who shares her insights on New Orleans’ journey of recovery. The full series will premiere Sunday, October 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CNN.
