Dillard Film immerses students in the process of filmmaking by offering opportunities to work with film industry professionals and legends such as Spike Lee, Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker. In this signature academic program, learn how to manage pre-production skills, storyboards and budgeting. Our rigorous and hands-on curriculum ensures that students are prepared for careers in the film and television by creating local training opportunities. Dillard Film students have participated in the making of million dollar features such as "The Butler," "Mr.Right," "Elvis and Nixon," "Oldboy" and "The Magnificent Seven." Dillard Film students and alumni can also create opportunities in the music industry, at media companies or with marketing agencies by producing branded content or commercials.

The 2005 devastation from Hurricane Katrina is well-documented with "Fair Dillard" almost being wiped off the map. In an impressive renaissance bolstered by tax incentives that made Louisiana the number one state for film production, Dillard Film has become THE destination location for young filmmakers entering the entertainment business.

What Makes Dillard Film Unique?

MAKING FEATURE FILMS IS BUILT INTO THE PROGRAM

Dillard Film supports movies big and small. Whether it’s putting 43 Dillard students as interns on Spike Lee’s "Oldboy" or five students on Lee Daniel’s "The Butler," Dillard Film helps filmmakers make films.

WHY DILLARD FILM?

1. Work on real feature film sets.

2. Learn holistic filmmaking.

3. Learn filmmaking by working with professionals in small class sizes.
