DILLARD UNIVERSITY FOOD STUDIES
Over the next 10 years, there will be diverse opportunities in the food industry which already employs more than 308,700 people. Additionally, the greater New Orleans region will always have a need for skilled employees in the food and restaurant industry whether opportunities entail policy-making, urban agriculture and food systems, restaurant management, or media. Food studies at Dillard is a degree-seeking minor that involves the governance, planning, history, design, business and implementation of food systems. The field addresses food sustainability and security, challenges that pose some of the most serious threats yet greatest opportunities for planning the future of resilient cities.
