On Friday, November 10, the New Orleans Jazz Market hosted DU’s 40 Under 40 “50 Years of Hip Hop” Bleu Devil Ball, celebrating the achievements of 40 alumni under the age of 40.
DJ Raj Smoove, an alumnus who graduated top of his class in 1998, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his accomplishments.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of hip hop, we had performances by LeToya Luckett, a multi-talented performer and former member of the chart-topping group Destiny’s Child, DJ Mannie Fresh who had the crowd moving and grooving from start to finish, and DJ Jubilee, a local legend, known for his high-energy performances and infectious party anthems.
