Dillard University Partners with E. Ross Studios to Launch Certificate and Master Class Courses in Entertainment and Film

New Orleans, LA – In the 90th year of the establishment of the Dillard University (DU)Theatre Department, Louisiana’s oldest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) paves another historic path with its partnership with EMMY award winning composure Elvin Ross, Louisiana native and CEO/Founder of E. Ross Studios School of Film & Television (SFTV). The DU/SFTV partnership is an academic enterprise that integrates technology and creativity that drives innovation and amplifies culture through a comprehensive schedule of Certificate and Master Class courses. Built upon the pillars of skill development, job placement, career advancement, and community impact, the DU/SFTV programs are designed for enrolled Dillard University students, and will expand to include participants in JOB1, the City of New Orleans Workforce Development Initiative and current professionals in the industry.

Ross Studios and the opportunities for innovation, creativity, and community engagement,” said Monique Guillory, interim president at Dillard. “Our students and faculty will have opportunities with student exchanges, master classes, and hands-on experiences in a groundbreaking approach to learning and artistic expression. This initiative fits with Dillard’s historic grounding in the humanities and brings new opportunities for the Film Studies program at Dillard.”

On display this week at Dillard University are lighting displays on the buildings facing Gentilly Boulevard. This is a product of the Light and Art Installations course, featuring industry veteran and DU/SFTV instructor Jason Lanier.
