Campus Access and Identification
- Members of the Dillard community must carry their University ID at all times.
- Guests must have a valid state-issued driver’s license or ID while on campus.
- All individuals are subject to security screenings upon entry.
- Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- The Dillard University Police Department (DUPD) asks everyone to partner in keeping our campus safe.

If you witness a verbal or physical altercation, or see suspicious activity, report it immediately to a DUPD officer.
Be Aware of Your Surroundings
- Stay alert and aware of what’s happening around you at all times.
- If something feels off, trust your instincts and move to a populated area.
- Avoid allowing strangers to approach your personal space.
- Remember: large events can attract unwanted activity—stay vigilant.
- If you see suspicious behavior, try to get a description and call the police or DUPD right away.
Be Responsible
- Park in well-lit, designated areas and familiarize yourself with the campus layout.
- Stick with your group—never travel alone. Leave with the same group you arrived with.
- Share your location using “Find My Friends” or a similar app, and let someone know your plans.
- Walk confidently and stay alert; avoid distractions such as texting or using headphones.
- Keep your phone charged and accessible.
- Do not use illegal substances or engage in activities that could impair your judgment.
Protect Your Valuables
- Carry personal identification with you at all times.
- Keep phones and electronic devices secure when not in use.
- Store valuables in your vehicle’s trunk—never leave them in plain sight.
- Avoid displaying large amounts of cash.
- Always lock your dorm room, apartment, and vehicle.
