Test optional means that we are allowing all first year applicants to decide whether to submit ACT or SAT scores as a part of their application for admission into Dillard University. You will also be considered for an increase in your academic merit scholarship by providing us with your qualifying ACT/SAT scores.

As a result of test cancellations due to COVID-19, Dillard University effective November 20, 2020 will be test optional for all incoming classes. This option is another avenue for students to be considered for admission into Dillard University.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (Reflected from grades 9-11).
Opting In/Out:
Applicants applying via our online application or 3rd party application must select the “test optional” choice. If the applicant does not indicate “test optional” on one of our applications, those applicants with at least a 3.0 unweighted gpa at the time of applying will be automatically considered as “test optional”.
If an applicant decides to opt-out of test optional consideration, they must submit ACT or SAT test scores meeting our minimum admissions requirements (18 ACT composite score or 960 SAT combined score) by May 1st.
If an applicant indicates that they are applying as test optional, previously submitted test score or test scores submitted on their high school transcript will not be considered for the admission process.
Non Eligible Applicants:
Those first year students who have not maintained at least a 3.0 unweighted cumulative grade point average, home schooled applicants and international applicants who cannot demonstrate English proficiency will not be eligible to be considered for test optional acceptance.
Enrollment Process:
All first year applicants wishing to be considered for admission under our test optional policy will not be required to submit ACT or SAT scores, but will be required to take placement tests for Math and English course placement before or during New Student Orientation.
Applicants that submit their official dual enrollment coursework of college level Math and English with a grade of C or higher or official passing scores for AP/IB/CLEP for Math or English will not be required to take placement exams in said courses.
Transfer Applicants:
Transfer student applicants are not required to submit ACT/SAT scores unless they have less than 24 credit hours. Said applicants will still be required to submit ACT/SAT scores to complete their application for admission into Dillard University.
Louisiana Resident Applicants:
LOSFA, the state agency that administers the TOPS scholarship program requires a test for eligibility. Please visit the LOSFA website for additional information and deadlines.
Honors Program consideration:
Those students wishing to obtain our University or Presidential Scholarship that grants automatic acceptance into our Honors Program must submit ACT/SAT scores by December 1.
