Choose Your Path to Earn your Masters of Science Degree in Nursing.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program curriculum at Dillard University College of Nursing (DUCON) embodies a coherent course of study, consistent with the competencies for the novice nurse educators, nurse leaders and nurse entrepreneur’s values. Integrated throughout each program option are role specific competencies for the nurse educator, nurse administrator, and nurse entrepreneur that align with the College of Nursing’s end-of-program student learning outcomes (EPSLOs) and DUCON master’s competency statements. You the student meet three times a semester (a combination of face-to-face and synchronous sessions), with the remaining course work asynchronous.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) End of Program Student Learner Outcomes (EPSLOs)
The graduate will be able to:
- Communicate effectively through both oral and written formats with various forms of media and technology inclusive of artificial intelligence for the enhancement of culturally diverse healthcare clients.
- Incorporate leadership skills in advanced nursing roles to cultivate interpersonal relationships for diverse peoples in a variety of settings.
- Practice according to current ethical, legal, faith-based, and evidence-based professional standards of nursing for advanced nursing roles.
- Institute strategies in collaboration with inter-professional teams to provide and maintain delivery of quality culturally competent precision healthcare and health literacy.

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program curriculum at Dillard University College of Nursing (DUCON) embodies a coherent course of study, consistent with the competencies for the novice nurse educators, nurse leaders and nurse entrepreneur’s values. Integrated throughout each program option are role specific competencies for the nurse educator, nurse administrator, and nurse entrepreneur that align with the College of Nursing’s end-of-program student learning outcomes (EPSLOs) and DUCON master’s competency statements. You the student meet three times a semester (beginning, midterm, and final), with the remaining course work asynchronous.
- Application fee of $40.00 via check or money order payable to Dillard University. Fee Waivers are accepted)-NACAC, College Board, Financial Hardship Letter, Free/Reduced Lunch Letter.
- Submit a Dillard University Graduate Application.
- Submit all electronic transcripts from institutions attended to admissions@dillard.edu

- Submit the College of Nursing Option Intent Form to MSN@dillard.edu.
- Submit a Professional Letter of Reference Form to MSN@dillard.edu.
- Once you receive your official offer of acceptance, it will contain your DU ID.
- Once you obtain your DU ID, follow the instructions to access your DU email.
- You will receive your acceptance letter to the Graduate Nursing Program, along with information about your nursing graduate advisor, in your DU email. You will also receive any additional correspondence from the University and the College of Nursing through the same channel.
- Incoming Student must complete your grad student onboarding prior to the start of class.

- Communicate effectively in the presentation of didactic content and clinical skills in a variety of learner environments, inclusive of simulated learning.
- Role model for future professional nurses the educator’s use of leadership skills.
- Complete clinical practicums that foster the development of nursing students’ values and knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional nursing standards.
- Utilize nursing education strategies which improve inter-professional collaboration and nursing students’ knowledge and delivery of nursing students culturally competent care.
- Employ effective communication to facilitate relationship building and influence behaviors in nurse management venues.
- Utilize leadership practices exemplary of change management, adaptive thinking and decision making that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Apply management practices that demonstrate professionalism, accountability, advocacy, and governance.
- Utilize business skills and principles in a variety of healthcare systems that foster inter-professional collaboration to improve quality of care in a culturally diverse society.
