NEW ORLEANS – Dillard University’s Office of Community and Church Relations is offering residents an opportunity to learn and fellowship during its Smartphone Technology Classes and Senior Citizens’ Luncheon that will happen in April.

The free smartphone technology classes will take place on April 8, 22 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 3301 Annette Street. The classes are offered to help individuals learn how to stay connected with technology by using their smartphones. Individuals will learn how to navigate cell phone apps, wifi, social media, emails, QR codes and cybersecurity.

The Senior Citizens’ Luncheon is an effort that allows seniors to fellowship and learn about available resources in the community, while staying engaged and active. The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dillard in Kearny Dining Hall. All-you-can-eat lunches will be available for $9.09. Groups of five or more individuals interested in attending should reserve seating at least 48 hours in advance. Contact Robin Hawkins at rhwakins@dillard.edu to make a reservation.

For more information about the smartphone technology classes, contact Nick Harris, director of the Office of Community and Church Relations at 504-473-1141 or nharris@dillard.edu.
