Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a balanced arts and sciences/professions institution, invites applications and nominations for the position of Gift Accountant/Database Coordinator. The University is located in the culturally-rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Database Coordinator  is an important member of the Development team responsible for processing gifts, maintaining  database records and providing accurate constituent information to support fundraising and engagement strategies. Works closely with the team to produce and assess information that can inform decision making and advance fundraising.

• Process, reconcile, and transmit donations and pledges that come in on a daily basis accurately and in a timely manner.
• Input incoming donor information and ensure records are accurately and regularly updated, including adding new constituents, updating biographical information and noting pertinent information.
• Provide accurate reports and data files to meet both internal and external information  reporting needs, including monthly reconciliation with Business and Finance and Institutional Advancement.
• Assume direct responsibility for all development systems and systems services in order to meet short and long range goals and objectives of Institutional Advancement.
• Develop policies and procedures to assure the accuracy and quality of constituent information  (data integrity).
• Plan and execute the full implementation of the current development database system. Optimize use of its functionalities to support fund-raising and constituent relations goals.
• Establish and maintain donor acknowledgement services for timely reporting on gifts and to maintain strong donor relations.
• Assume direct responsibility for development and implementation of stewardship plan.
• Work with Information Technology staff to ensure that appropriate information is shared  among administrative systems in compliance with industry practice and institutional policy and to ensure adequate support in system administration.
• Assist in developing and submitting grant proposals by monitoring grant expenditures and advising principal investigators of changes in reporting or accounting requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education / skills required:
•Bachelors degree and 3-5 years related experience
•Must have experience with Raisers Edge and similar donor information system.
•Team player with proactive approach and a positive outlook.
•Knowledge of IRS requirements in posting and acknowledging gifts.
•Demonstrated experience with standard software applications, including MS Excel, Windows
•Results and service-oriented attitude with special attention to responding timely with accuracy and precision
•Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
•Strong analytical and data modeling skills, an inquisitive nature and a track record of creative problem solving
•Excellent project management skills
