The HBCU Battle of the Brains competition, known for its role as the HBCU academic national championship and a showcase of top Black talent from colleges and universities nationwide, once again drew attention to Dillard University. This annual event brings together teams of students from HBCUs across the country to compete for the coveted title of HBCU Battle of the Brains Champion.
The competition featured 30 teams from HBCUs, including Dillard University, showcasing the academic prowess and competitive spirit of HBCUs nationwide. Dillard University proudly stood among the top seven teams that advanced to the finals, demonstrating exceptional talent and determination.
The final seven teams in the competition included:
- Dillard University
- Fisk University
- Morehouse College
- Prairie View A&M University
- Philander Smith University
- Talladega College
- University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Team Advisor and Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Dennis Sigur, commended the Dillard team for their outstanding performance, stating, “The Dillard team showcased hard work, creativity, intelligence, and leadership throughout the competition. Their presence among the top seven teams for two consecutive years exemplifies the power of teamwork and dedication leading to success.”
